Why SaiSwaa was Founded

Our founder started this journey because of her daughter Harmony, who was experiencing hair loss due to the emotional stress of her parents' divorce. A visit to the pediatrician led to a recommendation to stop using perms on Harmony's hair. The very idea broke Harmony's heart; she didn't think her natural hair was beautiful. This was a turning point.

 

A Mother’s Sacrifice, A Daughter’s Realization

In an act of solidarity, our founder cut off her own hair, letting go of the need for perms and embracing her natural new growth. A simple application of gel later, her hair curled up beautifully. It wasn't just an aesthetic change; it was an emotional transformation.

Taking Harmony on a day out to the mall, our founder received compliment after compliment on her stunning natural hair. The impact on Harmony was immediate. She began to take pride in her natural 4A/4B/4C hair, even inspiring other young girls at her school to do the same.

Our founder's decision to embrace natural hair didn't just impact her family's view of beauty; it was a health decision as well. She discovered a correlation between perms and Fibroids, a health issue that had necessitated surgeries for her and many of her friends and family members. Sharing this information led many to make the healthy choice to go natural and avoid harmful chemicals in their hair care routine.
